General Ministries

Antioch has the following ministry offerings to help grow your knowledge and relationship with God.

Antioch Baptist Church Sunday Classes Nursery (Birth - 2 years old)

We rock babies, feed them bottles, change diapers, and love on them! We supervise playtime for toddlers, feed them snacks, and love on them as well!

God's Little Helpers

This class is for pre-k (ages 2 plus) boys and girls. We present the Bible in story form and incorporate snack and playtime according to individual needs. All are welcome!

Junior Believers, Grades 1, 2 & 3

As Junior Believers our class learns new things through Bible verses and stories from God's word each week. One of our goals is to learn the books of the Bible. Most importantly we learn about our salvation through Jesus Christ.

Faith Explorers, Grades 4 & 5

Our class explores the Bible world through stories that ignite our curiosity surrounding a daily life with Christ. This inspires a journey of faith and learning about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We believe God invites us to be curious and ask question so we can learn and grow in our spiritual journey with Him.

Youth B

Our class is comprised of middle and high school youth learning the Bible as a foundation for life and future decision making as well as the practical application of the teachings of Jesus in today's world. We seek to follow Christ and to be His light in our world.

Alpha

Single and married young adults make up this class. We study the Bible to gain insight into God's word. We seek to learn and become more mature Christians personally, which leads to being better reflections of Christ to everyone.

Becomers

The Becomers Sunday Class is a mixed class of women and men who meet regularly on Sunday mornings on the 2nd floor of the Educational Building. Our ages are varied as well as our backgrounds. Our purpose is to study Gods word and apply it to our lives. We are very sensitive to the needs of our community and church. Our mission goals are to provide assistance where it is needed. Our weekly contributions to the class mission fund have helped provide assistance many times. We consider this a great ministry of our class. some of our ministries include financial help to church members, meals and foods provided to members of the church, meals and collections to the Heritage Care Nursing Home, gifts at Christmas for school children, needs through the Guidance Department at ACHS, and numerous other ministries. Our teachers are Vivia Cline and Glenn Ammons. Virginia Austin is the substitute. All men and women of any age are invited to come to our class.

Conquerors

Holy Spirit led; all material is from the Bible. Multiple ages, both women and men. All are welcome.

Journeymen

Our class is comprised of men ages 35 and up who read and study scripture. We discuss how it applies to our daily lives. We are a mission minded group and are happy to provide financial support for needs within our church and community. We always welcome new members!

Merry Hearts

The Merry Hearts Sunday Class is a gathering of caring sisters, who place great emphasis on praying for one another, our church family, our community and beyond. Our hearts are merry as we serve the Lord ministering as his hands and feet. Studying and meditating on His Word nourished us as we grow in our knowledge, service, and devotion to Him and as He ministers to us. We are blessed with dedicated teachers of different teaching styles who rotate facilitating our lessons.

The Seekers, Based on Matthew 6:33

We are a mixed group of caring adults pursing an increase in the knowledge of God and His Word. We use The Journey Series which allows us to take as much time as needed with each lesson. We seek to apply God's Word to produce the Fruit of the Sprit in our daily lives as we seek to serve God and each other. We provide coffee and light munchies each Sunday (for those who didn't have time for coffee before leaving home). Rudy Hollingworth serves as our principle teacher.

The Promises

The name says it all… under the leadership of Dale Robertson we are promised to openly learn the word of God in a discussion-based setting We laugh, learn, serve and cry together as brothers and sisters in Christ. We have open arms and hearts for serving Christ and each other. We welcome you unconditionally into the family of God!

Bn82.0

We are a hodge-podge group who meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall. We usually have 5 - 10 folks aged high school through retirement age. Currently we are studying God’s Armor, and we take our time talking about how our lessons are relevant to us in our world today. Several of our folks are excellent singers and we enjoyed caroling at the nursing homes at Christmas. And FYI, there is usually some food involved! Contact Dinah Austin @ 828-234-2352 with any questions. We'd love to have you join us.
